Web Designer and book author Jim Smith will discuss ways in which book authors can develop or update their own website to better promote their books and themselves. He will cover the basic components every author should incorporate into their own website. He will also share some ideas on how to attract search engines -- and therefore attract more visitors. Whether you have a website and are looking for ideas to improve it, or are looking to start a website and looking for guidance, this is a meeting you won't want to miss! Jim will bring handouts to this fun and informal event and will leave plenty of time for your questions.


Bio:
Jim Smith, with Blarneystone, LLC in Amston, CT has been designing websites for 18 years. In 2001 Globe Pequot Press asked Jim to write a book sharing his experiences as a home-based web designer. The book, "How to Start a Home-Based Web Design Business", is currently in its 4th edition. Jim enjoys sharing his ideas and experiences with other web designers as well as other book authors. He has a web site at www.homebasedweb.com with tips for fellow web designers as well as book reviews and articles. He is currently writing an e-Book for other web designers expected to be out by the end of the year with everything needed to offer e-Commerce add-ons to their web design services.
