I've dropped out of touch with CAPA as I've struggled a bit to find my identity (read, marketing niche). I handicapped myself a bit when, as a first time author, I competed with The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire in the breadth and scope of my subject matter. With now a good handle of where to proceed with my published book, and a second book on the way, I am ready to "brand myself."
Branding myself is a bit ironic, considering that humility is a topic I write profusely about. Yet I've listened long enough to all the advice out there about taking your passion and expertise and turning it into a brand. I am now The Hiking Humanitarian, for reasons I'll get into later. Hope to become a better member over the next year.
