Also, I'd love to visit your booth at the Big E. I'm guessing it is too late to participate.

Hi Dvorah,

Dick Benton is in charge of membership. You may want to reach out to him. He's listed in the CAPA social network here. There are three meeting locations to help make CAPA accessible to all of CT. You can come as a guest to any of the meetings to find out more. The main meeting in Avon, CT is on Sat., Sept 18th from 10:30-12:30 at the Senior Center on rte 167 (near Avon HS). The exact address should be listed on the CAPA website.

I joined CAPA last January. For this academic year, I am the interim coordinator of the MFA in Creative and Professional Writing at Western Connecticut State University. I write creative nonfiction myself. I would enjoy the opportunity to be in the "Meet a Member" column, if possible.

Consider yourself signed up! Since The Authority is a monthly publication, we are booked solid for a year, however, I will add you in for July 2012. 

To announce great happenings, like your upcoming book launch, I would suggest posting it as a Brag. Peggy Gaffney started an online group for brags:  http://authorsandpublishersct.ning.com/group/brags

Also remember to send a short blurb of your brag with a jpeg of your book, your author photo and a link to your website to Peggy Gaffney for inclusion in the August The Authority newsletter. 

You can also setup an event from your page here and invite people. I haven't tried it, however, you should be able to invite everyone in the CAPA social network that way. 

CAPA also has a Facebook page and you could invite folks through there.
